Information we collect
- Information you provide, such as your email address, first name, language, country, and declared interests.
- Consent evidence, including the signup source, consent-text version, submission time, confirmation time, and unsubscribe or suppression status.
- Acquisition information, such as landing page, referrer, UTM parameters, and advertising click identifiers when present.
- Technical and engagement information, such as approximate country, device or browser information, delivery status, and links selected in our messages or site.
- Purchase or attribution information supplied by a marketplace or advertising platform. A click is never treated as proof of purchase.
Why we use information
We use information to deliver requested letters and confirmations, operate and secure the subscriber system, remember preferences, understand which public work reaches readers, improve accessibility and translation, measure campaigns in aggregate, introduce relevant books or programs, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
Our basis for newsletter communication
We send the Mythological Mailer only after an affirmative signup and email confirmation. You may withdraw that permission at any time through the unsubscribe link in a message or by contacting us. Refusing or withdrawing newsletter consent does not prevent access to the public Mythological Center library.
Service providers and international processing
We use hosting, email-delivery, analytics, advertising, and marketplace providers to operate Mythological Center. They may process limited information in countries other than your own. We limit access to operational purposes and use available contractual, technical, and account-security safeguards.
Advertising and measurement
Campaign parameters and platform click identifiers help us distinguish an advertisement view, a site visit, a submitted signup, a confirmed subscription, an outbound marketplace visit, and a reported purchase. These are separate events. We do not describe a click, form opening, or email opening as a confirmed subscription or purchase.
Cookies and similar storage
The site may use necessary browser storage and analytics or advertising technologies to preserve campaign context, understand use, secure services, and measure outcomes. Where local law requires consent for optional technologies, we will request it before using them. Browser settings and platform controls may also limit these technologies.
Retention
Active subscriber records are kept while the subscription continues. Confirmation tokens expire; operational email bodies are scheduled for short retention. After unsubscribe, we retain a minimal suppression record so that the address is not accidentally contacted again. Security, consent, and aggregate records may be retained as reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance, prevent abuse, or resolve disputes.
Historical addresses
Older address lists are quarantined. Their existence is not treated as proof of consent, and they are not enrolled in the Mythological Mailer unless provenance and permission are separately established.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection; withdraw consent; and complain to a data-protection authority. We may retain a minimal suppression record after a deletion request when necessary to honor your request not to receive future marketing. Contact mythmaster@mythological.center to make a request.
Children
The newsletter and commercial services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Readers who are not old enough to consent under the law where they live should not subscribe without authorization from a parent or guardian.
Sale of information
We do not sell subscriber information. If our practices materially change, this notice will be updated before the new use begins where required.
Security and changes
We use access controls, encryption, private configuration, throttling, suppression controls, and operational monitoring designed to protect reader information. No system is perfectly secure. We review this notice and will post material updates with a new effective date.
